Christmas Card Audio CD + Full-time worker 2008 + Campfire launch 2008

Robert Turnbull

Hey everyone,Christmas Audio CD

The Christmas storytellings have been going well. It's lots of fun being about to tell the story in such a variety of situations. There are three more performances this weekend and all the details are up on the website:

www.thebackyardbard.com/christmas

I've produced an audio recording of the Christmas story and produced Christmas cards which hold the CDs. You can give them away as  your Christmas cards. They are $5 each or $4 each if you buy 5 or more. Please act quick because Christmas is just around the corner. Please order through the website (see link above) or send me an email with how many you'd like and with your address. I'll also have heaps of copies with me at the Christmas storytellings this weekend.

Full-Time Worker 2008

I'm pleased to announce that I will be working full-time with The Backyard Bard in 2008 doing storytelling. This will hopefully be a big step forward for us as a group and a great opportunity for Christian communities in Melbourne to use storytelling as a resource. I want to do lots of storytellings at churches, community groups and events, I want to do lots of training in storytelling and Bible reading and I want to produce lots of quality resources for people to use and benefit from. You will hear more from me about this next year but please keep The Backyard Bard in mind as you are making plans for events for next year. Having storytelling may greatly enhance what you are doing and also help me put food on the table!

Campfire Launch 2008

We will be starting 'Campfire' again in February. This is our montly informal get-together where people share some stories and just hang out. Like usual it will be on the first Friday of every month so it will begin on Friday the 1st of February.
(Click here for the Facebook event page).

I'm still trying to lock down the location (I will let you know sometime in January). I'm probably going to be sharing a story from 1 Samuel 3-8. If you know you can come, why not prepare a story as well. We'd all love to hear it!

I've also just produced a 'Campfire' promo. You can see it here on the Campfire website:

www.thebackyardbard.com/campfire

I hope you all have a fantastic Christmas and that you get to once again enjoy the story behind the celebration.

Thanks,
Rob
